TEXTILE RESOURCES FOR EDUCATORS

Viola Textile Studio offers fun & informative hands-on professional development workshops for educators, focused on the history, traditions, and techniques of textile handcrafts. For North Carolina schools, we do in-person classes.

If your school is outside of North Carolina, we now offer virtual classes! With video tutorials, zoom meetings, and supply kits mailed to your school in advance, we will create interactive textile workshops which can be attended virtually. Each workshop is structured to meet the needs of your teachers, students, and school.

Interactive Online Professional Development Workshops for your School District

With video tutorials, zoom meetings, and supply kits mailed to your school in advance, we will create interactive textile workshops which can be attended virtually. Each workshop is structured to meet the needs of your teachers, students, and school, and can include the following:

Video tutorials which teachers can re-watch and share with students.
Slideshow video describing the history and culture related to the textile technique.
Hands-on activity to learn the technique. (Supply kits for teachers will be mailed to your school in advance of the workshop.)
Zoom meeting (s) for presentation and group discussion.
Project handouts and lesson-plans that can be adapted for the grade levels being taught.
